A Spanish advertisement in the Spanish weekly newspaper La Voz from Virginia with the slogan “Votar es tener voz” translates to English as meaning “to vote is to have a voice” and encourages Spanish-speakers to vote in the upcoming November elections. This September 1998 edition of the Kentucky Farm Bureau’s “All Around Kentucky” was released in lead up to that year’s November 3rd elections. The magazine featured articles on legislation related to tobacco use, the opening of the Farm Bureau Bank in 1999 and the upcoming farm safety week. Changes in the 90s : Proposed Annual Legislative Sessions Amendment
“Changes in the 90s: Proposed Annual Legislative Sessions Amendments” was released in Kentucky in lead up to the 1998 state and national elections. This particular document focused on “Constitutional Amendment No. 1,” a piece of legislation which called for the commonwealth’s General Assembly to meet in interim sessions for a 25 day period during odd numbered years; this would reduce that organizational sessions from 10 days to 5 days. This amendment would be featured on the November 3, 1998 ballot for the Commonwealth of Kentucky.

Changes in the 90s : Proposed Property Tax Exemption Amendment
“Changes in the 90s: Proposed Property Tax Exemption Amendment” was released in Kentucky in lead up to the 1998 state and national elections. This particular document focused on “Constitutional Amendment No. 2,” which would alter the state legislature’s ability to levy property and real estate taxes. Specifically, the amendment would allow the commonwealth’s General Assembly to “exempt items of personal property from taxation and to expand the homestead real property tax exemption for retirees who are totally disabled.” This amendment would be featured on the November 3, 1998 ballot for the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
