Online Training Launched to Engage Pakistani Women with Disabilities in Public Policy Reform
The “Power to Persuade” training builds the skills of women with disabilities to advocate with policymakers, elected officials and other political powerbrokers for reform. In response to COVID-19, IFES adapted its training methodology for online implementation in Pakistan in July 2020.

Learning About Violence Against Women in Politics in Leaps and Bounds: Surprising Findings from the Maldives
In 2011, IFES' Electoral Violence Education and Resolution (EVER) methodology found that women were rarely the subjects of political violence in the Maldives – less than 2 percent of violent incidents specifically targeted women, compared to 46 percent targeting men. Four years later, using a new, survey-based methodology, data collected by Professor Elin Bjarnegård from Sweden's Uppsala University in collaboration with IFES suggested a very different situation.

Pakistan’s National Assembly Passes New Election Bill
On August 22, 2017, the Pakistani National Assembly passed Election Bill, 2017, a major achievement for electoral reform in Pakistan. The bill included many of IFES’ recommendations and is a significant step forward for electoral reforms ahead of the 2018 general elections.
