Kosovo Taking Steps Toward Gender Equality in Election Administration
The issue of low representation of women among Kosovo's election staff was raised for the first time in March 2014 in IFES' report on gender breakdown of election staff in the 2013 municipal elections. A series of advocacy efforts was carried out to raiss awareness of the benefits of gender diversity in election staff and to encourage the nomination of more women to these positions.

Advancing Disability Rights in Southeast Asia through Regional Network of Advocates
In 2011, IFES established the General Election Network for Disability Access (AGENDA) across Southeast Asia. A creative partnership between disabled persons’ organizations (DPOs) and election-focused civil society organizations, AGENDA serves as a forum to improve access to political and electoral opportunities for persons with disabilities by increasing public awareness and elevating advocacy efforts that call for change.

IFES Kosovo Works to Engage Youth in Political and Electoral Processes
To increase youth participation in, and awareness of, political and electoral issues in Kosovo, the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES) implemented an intensive program, which included mock debates, election simulations, and meetings with political entities. The information from these reports will be used by Kosovo’s Central Election Commission and civil society organizations to develop their public outreach strategies and to identify which groups of voters will need more effective targeting and motivation.

IFES Kosovo Promotes Inclusive Elections
The “Manual for Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities in Electoral and Political Processes” provides information on ways of including persons with disabilities in the electoral process and political sector in Kosovo. The “Leaflet for Disability Access Criteria” provides examples of the legally required specifications to ensure equal access for persons with disabilities.

IFES Assists Youth “Superchangers” in Kosovo Amplify their Voices
Recent studies have identified the alienation of Kosovo youth from electoral, political and governance processes as a potential threat to the peaceful development of a unified society, and the basis for extremism and potential radicalization of youth by clerics and political interest groups. In light of these findings, IFES implemented a year-long program focused on youth engagement throughout Kosovo to help mitigate some of these issues.
