Issued by the Electoral Commission of Papua New Guinea in December 1996, the newsletter entitled “Vote in Poll or Shut Up” attempts to encourage PNG citizens to register to vote and participate in the upcoming 1997 general elections. In the newsletter are articles on electoral procedures, campaign information, and cartoons advocating for the importance of voting.

Belarus Referendum Ballot 1996
Ballot used for the seven-question referendum held in Belarus on 24 November 1996. The first four questions in the referendum were proposed by President Alexander Lukashenko, and the final three were proposed by the Supreme Court. The voters voted on the following:
-Whether Independence Day should be moved to 3 July, to commemorate the liberation of Belarus
-Approval of the constitutional amendments proposed by President Lukashenko
-Approval of the free sale of land
-Abolition of the death penalty
-Approval of the constitutional amendment proposed by the Supreme Soviet
-Direct elections to local bodies
-Should all state expenses be part of the national budget.

Moldova Presidential Ballot 1996
English translation of the ballot to elect the President of Moldova. The first round of the election was held on 17 November 1996 and the main candidates were Mircea SNEGUR (Party of Rebirth and Conciliation of Moldova), Petru LUCINSCHI (Independent) and Vladimir VORONIN (Party of Communists of the Republic of Moldova). A second round of voting was held on 1 December.
