Published by the Instituto Federal Electoral (IFE) in 1997 before the July 6th, 1997 federal elections, this booklet provides information regarding offices up for election, updates to the Mexican electoral system, the electoral registry, campaign finance, and other important aspects of the Mexican election structure. Entitled, “1997 Federal Elections Process: Basic Information,” the objective of this booklet is to inform the Mexican public in order to promote increased voter participation.

1997 General Election Guide
“1997 General Election Guide” is a voter handbook, available in both Spanish and English, produced in 1997 by the New York City Campaign Finance Board, in lead up to the November 4, 1997 General Election. The guide is meant to provide voters with information about voting, to inform them about their rights as voters and the procedures that lead to a correct exercise of voting. It also provides short descriptions of each one of the offices for which candidates were running for and the profiles of candidates. Moreover, it includes a chapter on the NYC Campaign Finance Program, the Ballot Proposals and the innovative introduction of the NYC Campaign Finance Board Debates 1997.

A Record of Serving All Virginians -- Earley, Attorney General
This campaign advertisement that promotes Republican State Senator Mark Earley in his campaign to become Attorney General of Virginia was circulated prior to the November 4th, 1997 elections in Virginia. The advertisement features supportive quotes from members of Congress, a brief summary of Earley’s accomplishments as State Senator and a picture of Earley with his family under the slogan, “For our Families. For our Children.” This advertisement was produced by Friends of Mark Earley ’97.

Advance Voting - It’s Your Option!
This 1997 flyer advertises advance voting option that will be available in Johnson County, Kansas. The literature points out all of the positive aspects to voting early and also provides some written instructions on casting an early ballot. “Now it’s your Turn” is a civic education pamphlet, available in Spanish, issued in 1997 by the “Decidamos” group in Paraguay as part of a national drive program to stimulate Paraguayan voters to register in the Permanent Civil Registry in order to be able to vote in the 1998 General Elections. The pamphlet briefly explains how to successfully register.

“Informative Guide about 1997 Registration” is a voter guide, available in Spanish, issued in 1997 by the “Decidamos” group in Paraguay as part of the voter participation drive program. Guyana Elections Commission Vote '97 Enhancing the Electoral System
Prior to the December 15th, 1997 Guyana elections for President and members of the National Assembly, the Guyana Elections Commission published this pamphlet detailing voting instructions, registration information, and candidate information for Guyana’s citizens.
