Guatemalan Political Parties Commit to a Transparent, Ethical and Peaceful Electoral Process
The “Agreement for a Transparent, Ethical and Peaceful Electoral Process” was signed on March 11 by representatives of 18 of the 28 political parties that will participate in Guatemala’s upcoming elections. The agreement was an outcome of the Electoral Violence Prevention Plan developed by Guatemala’s Supreme Electoral Tribunal (TSE), with the support of IFES.

Increasing Youth Political Participation in Nepal
In Nepal, IFES partnered with the civil society organization Association of Youth Organizations Nepal (AYON) to implement the “Youth for Good Governance” project, which aims to build the capacity of young Nepalis to engage with elected representatives and actively participate in political processes. AYON produced and filmed a youth participation video, highlighting the importance of youth inclusion across political, social and economic sectors.

Supporting Credible Electoral Processes in Nigeria
On February 16, Nigeria's Independent National Electoral Commission announced the postponement of highly anticipated general elections. IFES has provided critical support to Nigerian election officials and civil society organizations and will continue to provide technical assistance to facilitate the development of free, fair and credible electoral processes.
