IFES Leads Side-Event at UN CRPD Conference of States Parties
The International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES) served as an observer to the 7th Conference of States Parties to the United Nations (UN) Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities from June 10-12, 2014 at UN Headquarters in New York City. As a consultative member of the UN Economic and Social Council, IFES has the ability to observe deliberations by the member states on implementation of the disability treaty as well as to host side events open to states and civil society.

Manual on Disability and Elections
A new publication by the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES) and the National Democratic Institute (NDI), Equal Access: How to Include Persons with Disabilities in Elections and Political Processes, provides governments, civil society and the donor community the requisite tools and knowledge to promote the participation of persons with disabilities in elections and political processes. It has been peer reviewed by twelve experts from the disability community, election practitioners and academia.

Project EASE Increases Election Access in the Philippines
Voting is becoming more accessible for voters with disabilities in the Philippines through the project for Ensuring Accessibility of Schools in Elections (EASE). Project EASE aims to increase the participation of persons with disabilities by ensuring they are able to join Election Day activities. This is done through evaluating the accessibility of schools across the country where voting is normally held.
